One lap.No hiding.

I'm Amara, a 400m sprinter chasing a place on the national team. Fifty seconds is all I get, so I've spent eight years making every one of them count.

    Pace your 400.

Pick a goal time and I'll split it the way I run mine: fast but not reckless out, hold the back straight, and survive the last 100.

Nurse by day, sprinter by night.

I work three twelve-hour shifts a week on a children's ward and train around them. My coach says the night shifts made me tough. I say they made me good at sleeping anywhere. Either way, the last 100 metres doesn't scare me any more.

Hi, it's Amara. If you've ever had a lap that hurt, you already get it. Come and watch me try to make it hurt a little faster.

A voice note. On a real webfolio, it's the athlete's own voice.
    Who coaches you?

The same coach since I was sixteen. We've never had a season without a PB.

    Do you do school visits?

Yes, a few a season. Use the partner form and say it's a school.

Where do the splits come from?

Official meet timing, every 100 metres. The other runners in the replay are approximate.

    Can I run with you?

Once a month I run an open session at our track. Dates go out on Instagram.
